Multiplayer
The Type 25 is the second assault rifle you unlock, namely at level 4. It does relatively little damage at close range and takes four bullets to finish off an enemy, only 3 if a hit was to the head. From a distance, it takes as many as five hits, and four if at least two of them were head hits. It acts similar to the Famas from Call of Duty: Black Ops in terms of stats, so weak damage, but low recoil to compensate.
The Type 25 is surprisingly effective at all ranges, but it is a particular highlight in close combat. Despite its low recoil, it’s better to shoot in bursts from certain distances. Rear sight and front sight are open and clear, making sights merely a necessary choice when the owner really can’t play without them. The really long reload animation can sometimes throw you off, but a quick magazine takes care of that. Furthermore, the hip-fire accuracy is pretty precise, which can be pushed even further with a laser marker. Ammo is consumed in a scary mass, so looter is a good choice.
The January 26, 2013 patch reduced the recoil of all assault rifles. The hip-fire accuracy of Type 25 has also been improved so that you don’t look like an idiot when shooting from the hip. Even the minimum damage has been increased a bit, so the performance from a distance is not so scary anymore.
The patch on March 12, 2013, improved Type 25 even more. When you use it, you’re now a bit faster when sprinting and the damage was increased even more, so the weapon can better keep up with the other assault rifles. The movement speed with Type 95 is now 96.5%, while with all other assault rifles it is only 95%.
Survival Battle
The Type 25 also appears in Survival Combat and can be pulled for 950 points at the mystery box. It suffers from low ammo, low damage, and high, uncontrollable recoil. It can help in scoring points, but overall it is not a recommended weapon. It is best to aim at the heads of the zombies.
If you upgrade it with the Pack-a-Punch automatic, it becomes a stretch 95 and does higher damage, has 30 bullets in the magazine with 270 in reserve, and has two attachments, a reflex sight, and a fast magazine. For 2000 points you can punch it several times, which gives you different attachments, but the fast magazine remains permanent. Among the attachments are a homing scope, an EOTech sight, a grenade launcher, and a millimeter scanner.
