As early as January 2021, parts of the WoW community discussed whether the dual talent distribution from WotLK could be a useful feature for Burning Crusade Classic. After the first weeks, our editor Karsten has a clear opinion on this topic.
WoW: From my point of view Burning Crusade Classic has a problem. There is an incredible amount to do in Outland, especially in the first days: level up, farm reputation, visit dungeons, master raids, farm gold or materials, rock battlegrounds and arenas. Of course, this is not the problem, but a big plus of TBC Classic. Now for the problem: Blizzard didn’t introduce dual talents until Wrath of the Lich King, and that devalues some of the TBC content.
Right. We had the discussion about the “dual spec” as recently as January. And lo and behold, the players who wanted the convenience feature in the Burning Crusade reboot were absolutely right! And that can currently be proven on the live servers.
By now, most full-time tanks have completed their attunements, fulfilled their reputation requests, and certainly helped out their friends and guildmates in the dungeons time and again. Now it’s time for something else: Twinking! As a result, it’s getting harder and harder to find tanks for dungeon groups.
With a healing specialization, solo farming and questing can get pretty annoying. Instead of constantly skilling back and forth, many medics have to play up an additional farm character.
Many arena rounds currently fail because people (myself included) don’t want to PvP with their raid specialization. This is not surprising. A rogue with the PvE combat spec is not exactly a feast for any PvP rogue. So what do we do? We’re trying to find a time between raids that everyone can do that is big enough to make the expensive back and forth skilling worth it. Just doing a little PvP usually falls flat.
The dual talent distribution would improve the gaming experience in all three cases:
There are more potential tanks in Outland.
In general, the chance of players in random groups (dungeons, raids, PvP) using meaningful talent distributions for that area increases.
The number of players in the arena and on the battlegrounds would increase due to easier and more flexible access to a reasonable PvP spec.
Healers and tanks would have a more offensive farm spec that they could access at any time.
It would be incredibly good for PvP in particular if players had more flexible access to a second skill. However, I’m afraid that Blizzard will only introduce such a change on the servers of the TBC Classic era, and that only when WotLK Classic is available. And then, unfortunately, it will be too late, at least for me.

World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade
Burning Crusade has the maximum level in WoW at 70 and brings 2 new playable races (Draenei& Blood Elves). In addition, there is a new continent: The Sheol
The Burning Crusade is the first expansion for the successful MMORPG World of Warcraft (WoW) from the developer studio Blizzard. The add-on introduces a new continent called Outland. There are also new races. The Blood Elves for the Horde and the Draenei for the Alliance. The classes Paladin and Shaman are now also playable for both factions. Furthermore, the expansion brings an increase in the level limit from 60 to 70 as well as flying mounts.
World of Warcraft (WoW)
The online role-playing game World of Warcraft (WoW) was released in Europe in 2005 and is an MMO with a subscription payment model. In WoW, players can complete tasks with their characters to improve their hero and meet like-minded players. There are thirteen different races to choose from when selecting a character – six of which belong to only one faction each – as well as eleven classes. In World of Warcraft, players have the opportunity to join the Horde or the Alliance, complete missions and quests with their character in the rich world, and adventure with other heroes in instanced areas for five, ten, and even 25 players.
