If you’ve been playing World of Warcraft since 2005, you’ll probably remember the Druid player Alamo, who has attracted a lot of attention for his funny guides to the class. Ahead of the launch of WoW Classic, we present you the most popular of them – enjoy!
Alamo is a Tauren Druid in the Lobster Brood guild on the Thunderhorn server who once made it to prominence with his post “Alamo teechs u 2 play DURID!” on the official World of Warcraft forums. His “guide” bristles with poorly edited MS Paint images, terrible (English) spelling, and humor. However, in an interview with the player behind Alamo, it turned out that he has a perfect command of the English language and that the guide is a parody. Since then, his guide and his person, though not as famous as Leeroy Jenkins, have become inseparable from the catchphrase “Cat Durid is 4 fite!”.
Blizzard has paid tribute to Alamo on several occasions. On the Burning Crusade druid spells page, the last three screenshots show a male Tauren druid in dreamwalker gear whose name is Alamo. In addition, Alamo was featured in the World of Warcraft trading card game “Drums of War” as an ally of the Horde. Alamo is also mentioned in April Fools’ Day 2009, where the Dance Battle System is introduced.

What is WoW Classic?
World of Warcraft Classic is a true recreation of the original WoW as you know it from 2006. All parts of the game – from combat mechanics and talent trees to character models and zones – have been recreated, contributing to the authentic experience.
Getting Started
All players with an active World of Warcraft subscription or game time on their accounts have access toWoW Classic at no additional cost.
- Open the Blizzard Battle.net Desktop App and select World of Warcraft from the menu.
- Select World of Warcraft Classic from the Version menu. If you have more than one World of Warcraft account, you’ll see a second Account drop-down list. In this column, select the active account you want to play with.
- Click the Install button. The progress bar will tell you when your game is ready to play.
- Click the Play button when the installation is complete.
You will need to select the realm you want to play on from several different realm types. Make sure you choose the same realm as your friends – in World of Warcraft Classic, you can only group with characters that are on the same realm as you!
