LoL League of Legends – Hot League of Legends Patch 10.15 News: Nasty Buffs & Nerfs!

Lee Sin and Aphelios are currently too strong for Riot, Yuumi they consider too weak. The first preview for the buffs and nerfs in LoL Patch 10.15 is here – and many people won’t like it…

As usual, Gameplay Chief Designer Mark “Scruffy” Yetter released the preview for the upcoming patch 10.15 this morning. Noticeable are the two nerfs of Aphelios and Lee Sin. Can’t we already hear the first outcry in the community? Yes, because the two champs are very popular and have recently made many appearances in the LEC and LCS. However, their strong performance in Pro-Play could now be their undoing.

The fans’ favorites will be weakened

It will be the eighth nerf for Aphelios in one – Season …. Riot, will you stop before the champ is dead? Aphelios Mains have to be very strong now, because all opponents will get more counterplay possibilities against the ADC. The Crescendum Guardian, his turret, shoots enemies that come near him. This turret now takes longer to attack, which can be crucial especially in 1v1 situations.

But we fear that the nerf journey of Aphelios will not end for a long time and we will still read his name in some patch notes. The last one will probably be on his tombstone…

The Lee Sin nerf is a direct response to his performance in Pro-Play. In SoloQ, the winrate remains at an unremarkable 47-49% so the monk doesn’t really need a weakening. However, what Lee Sin is capable of in the hands of the right players we saw last in the LEC when MAD Shad0w was able to pick in. The champ is very strong especially in the early game. Therefore, it may be that Riot will reduce his base-damage.

Unfortunately, there is no more information about the nerf yet, but we at EarlyGame will stay tuned and tell you when there is something new.

Yuumi Buff….

Riot? Why the cat? Nobody likes Yuumi, at least nobody who has to play against her. At the moment she is even one of the best supports. On her own team she means healing, shields and even more healing. Now, Riot wants to increase the mana gain through the passive. This means Yuumi has to leave her ADC less often to have enough mana for the lane. The buff thus strengthens her sustain, which is very important for support champions.

The danger now is that the champ can use his abilities much more often because of the mana buff. If this makes it permanently possible for Yuumi to jump from champ to champ and distribute shields and healing, her ban rate will increase a lot. What a cat’s meow…

Skarner and Swain get stronger

Skarner is finally getting his long overdue buff. The champ was rarely seen in the gap lately, and his winrate was no reason to pick him in the first place. The damage on his Q ability “Crystal Cut” is increased and now scales with the Max. Life of the opponent. Also, the projectile on his E skill “Fracture” is no longer slowed by hitting enemies.

Swain players can also look forward to some changes. His cooldowns will be reduced and his passive will now scale with CDR. In exchange, however, he will lose mana retention from the passive. His Q ability, Grip of Death, now has less cooldown and moves through enemy champions. The W gets more range and lower mana cost, but also less damage. The E gets a lower mana cost and a lower cooldown.

The patch preview is preliminary and a lot can still change until patch 10.15. Hopefully there will be more good news on the buff and nerf front soon. When we do, we’ll let you know here on EarlyGame. The patch itself is scheduled for July 22.
