Master Sergeant Sandman is a member of Delta Force and the team leader of the “Metal” unit. He was left in a diamond mine when he, along with Grinch and Truck, had to stop waves of enemies so that John Price, Yuri and Russian President Boris Vorshevsky could escape. The mine collapsed in the process, presumably killing everyone present – including Sandman, Grinch and Truck.

On October 8, 2013, two days before his 40th birthday, Sandman served with Captain John Price, “Soap” MacTavish and Simon “Ghost” Riley on a mission in Ukraine code-named “Operation Kingfish.”

Sandman served in the Delta Force unit “Metal,” where he led a team of experienced soldiers against Vladimir Makarov. Sandman led operations in New York, Hamburg, Paris, Berlin and in Siberia.
Lost
After Sandman and company reach President Vorshevsky to rescue him, he sacrifices himself for Captain Price and Yuri in their escape. When the helicopter left the mine, it crashed and Sandman, Grinch and Truck were trapped. Whether he will be rescued, experienced and return in a Call of Duty sequel is unknown, but quite possible.
