Dazzle: “The enemy pales when they see the face of Dazzle!”
Dazzle, the Shadow Priest, is an intelligence hero from DotA and Dota 2. With his abilities, Dazzle can heal, strengthen, and even temporarily immortalize allies or degrade the armor of enemies. He is a ranged hero of Dire. In the game, he can play the role of a support and lane support. Dazzle is therefore suitable as a support for other heroes, but is usually outmatched in solo. With Poison Touch, Dazzle can poison, slow, and stun enemy units. Shallow Grave, on the other hand, protects allies who have only a few health points left from death for a short time. It doesn’t matter what amount of damage is dealt to the affected unit. Shadow Wave heals Dazzle and his nearby allies, granting him the ability to deal damage equal to the healing. With his Ultimate Weave, Dazzle can greatly increase the armor of allies within a radius and massively decrease that of enemies. The effect of the ultimate is amplified if enemies or allies linger in the area. Aghanim’s Scepter increases the area of effect and the effect on armor.

Dazzle is a born supporter, as he heals his comrades and keeps them alive despite severe injuries. This gives them another chance to bring death and destruction upon their opponents. His strange magic also weaves itself into the armor of his allies, strengthening them, whereas it weakens that of his opponents.

“Before being ordained as a Shadow Priest, each young Dezun acolyte must undergo a series of ritual trials. The last is the Rite of Shadows, a torturous journey of the soul through the Nothl Realm, a dark world from which many a traveler has not escaped. Some return with sick minds, others with wondrous gifts. All, however, are marked by what happened to them there. Driven by the desire for enlightenment, Dazzle requested the sacred ritual as the youngest of his kind. At first they refused him because of his tender age, but Dazzle would not be dissuaded. Finally, the elders gave in to his request, sensing the exceptionality of the stubborn young acolyte. Dazzle took the sacred potion and sat by the fire while the rest of his clan danced the night away. In the distant realm of Nothl, light and shadow are reversed. And so the wonderful glow of his light staff turned into a source of diabolical mischief, which now makes the most cruel deeds shine in glorious light. The premonitions of the elders had come true: Dazzle returned as Shadow Priest as there had been no other before him. He commanded both the power of healing and the power of destruction. From then on, he used his powers to destroy his enemies and ease the suffering of his allies.”
Heroes (Dota 2)
The heroines and heroes (original: “Heroes”) are the primary playable entities in DotA and Dota 2. In a game, each player takes control of one of the 112 playable heroines and heroes. Each hero and heroine is a character with different attributes, abilities and roles. Each heroine and hero can also be categorized by the default attacks, which happen either in melee or ranged attacks.
Valve plans to develop their own heroines and heroes for Dota 2 after the release of the classic heroines and heroes from DotA Allstars, as Erik Johnson previously announced in a 2014 interview. After the release of Arc Warden in December 2015 and that of Underlord in August 2016, the first hero developed exclusively for Dota 2, Monkey King, appeared in winter 2016, although it was at least based on concepts from classic DotA and appeared there as an event boss opponent. The Dueling Fates update announced in August 2017 confirmed the release of two completely redesigned heroes.
