Pugna: “In your tongue I am known as Puck.”
Pugna, the Oblivion (Forgotten) is an Intelligence hero from DotA and Dota 2. He is a ranged Dire unit that features a huge Intelligence growth rate and short cooldowns for his abilities. In the game, Pugna can take on the role of a Nuker, Pusher and Support. Pugna’s abilities are extremely versatile. With Nether Blast, he can inflict a lot of damage to units and buildings, making him well-suited for pushing. Decrepify can incapacitate and slow down units, but also make them immune to attacks. However, Decrepify is mainly used to increase the incoming magic damage to the affected unit by a percentage. Nether Ward is useful for protecting entire areas from enemy magic, as it hurts spell-casting enemies, while reducing the mana ration of enemies. However, Nether Ward can be destroyed by enemies. Pugna’s Ultimate Life Drain works to channel and suck the life out of enemy units, healing himself, or heal his allies with his own life. If Pugna has full life, Life Drain regenerates his mana on enemy Heroes. However, since Life Drain does not hold opponents, they can move out of its range. Aghanim’s Scepter increases Life Drain’s damage, but also eliminates the cooldown.
Pugna- Hype
A crafty trickster, Pugna turns the enemy’s power against itself as he blasts their defenses. While his nether ward strikes nearby foes that dare to cast a spell, he drains life from enemies to ensure he will be ready for the next assault.
Pugna- Biography
“Near Pugna’s birthplace, a realm bordering the rivers of the underworld, lay a lamasery dedicated to the magic of oblivion and nourished by the energies of the underworld. Several years ago, the grand master of the temple had already thrust himself into the world of oblivion, leaving his academy without a head. After the death of their master, the remaining regents immediately immersed themselves in the rites of divination in order to find his reborn soul. Gradually, the indications that they would find their master in the nearby neighborhood grew stronger. But not a few villages lay within the perimeter of the temple, and in each of their alleys, in each of their squares, the cries of young children could be heard. Pugna, just thirteen months old, was only one of several brats and was presented to the chiefs of the temple along with two other promising candidates. The lamas laid out a handful of relics from the Grand Master’s possession for the children. The boy unceremoniously grabbed a pen made of porphyry that had belonged to the lama…. and picked his nostril with it. The girl unabashedly grabbed an amulet, also from the llama’s belongings, and simply swallowed it. Pugna calmly watched what was happening, laughed delightedly, and unceremoniously incinerated the two with a blast of emerald fire. He then grabbed his pen and amulet and squawked ‘Mine!’ The colonels lifted the radiant Pugna, wrapped him in a Grand Master’s robe, and before he knew it, he was seated on the throne. After five more years, to Pugna’s amusement, nothing more remained of the temple than a single pile of ashes.”
Heroes (Dota 2)
The heroines and heroes (original: “Heroes”) are the primary playable entities in DotA and Dota 2. In a game, each player takes control of one of the 112 playable heroines and heroes. Each hero and heroine is a character with different attributes, abilities and roles. Each heroine and hero can also be categorized by the default attacks, which happen either in melee or ranged attacks.
Valve plans to develop their own heroines and heroes for Dota 2 after the release of the classic heroines and heroes from DotA Allstars, as Erik Johnson previously announced in a 2014 interview. After the release of Arc Warden in December 2015 and that of Underlord in August 2016, the first hero developed exclusively for Dota 2, Monkey King, appeared in winter 2016, although it was at least based on concepts from classic DotA and appeared there as an event boss opponent. The Dueling Fates update announced in August 2017 confirmed the release of two completely redesigned heroes.
