Skins are certainly one of the reasons why League of Legends is so popular. In addition, of course, they are also an important part of LoL’s monetization model. Therefore, it’s little surprise that we already know quite a bit about 2021’s skins.
How many skins is LoL getting in 2021?
Riot employee Jonathan ‘Bellissimoh’ Belliss has confirmed that around 140 skins are planned for 2021. 2020 also saw just under 140 skins, so Riot wants to pick up right where they left off. Watch this video to learn more.
What skins have already been released in 2021?
We have already received quite a few skins this year. If you count the Sentinel & Ruined skins as well as the new Nightbringer and Dawnbringer skins, 132 skins have been released so far. This also means that there are about 10 more skins to come. Here is a list of the skins we have received so far:

Which champions will get skins in 2021?
In the video from above you could see a pretty long list of champions that are supposed to get a skin this year. Many of them already have their skins, but these champions will have to wait a little longer:
- Fiddlesticks
Unfortunately, the skin for Fiddle was not released in 2021, so Riot postpones it to 2022.
Will there be themed skins again?
There will be at least two more major skin series coming this year as well. We’ve already had Star Guardians, Project Skins, and countless more themed skins. Since Riot has let the community vote on which theme they want, new themed skins seem confirmed:
- Crime City Nightmare: 49.6%
- Debonair 2.0: 29.1%
- Monster Tamers: 21.3%
According to Riot, the Crime City Nightmare and Debonair skin series will be released in the third and fourth quarter of 2021, respectively. By the way, Riot has already shown concept art for Monster Tamer Janna, Debonair Ekko, and Crime City Nightmare TF.
What are Riot’s plans for Prestige Skins in 2021?
Prestige Points as a currency will be removed from the game in 2021. But don’t worry, your 2020 Prestige Points have been extended and you will still be able to use them for at least the first half of 2021.

Champion skin
Champion skin (or skin for short) refers to the color scheme or appearance of a champion. Most champion skins can be purchased in the Riot Shop with Riot Points, while others are/were only available for special events/promotions. However, some selected chroma skins (color-changed skins)can be purchased at special events for Blue Essence. Some champion skins bring new particles for visual effects, quotes and sound effects. Each skin has its own splashart, which is displayed in the champion selection and loading screen. Since patch 7.16, the custom champion image is also matched to the skin in the game itself.

What is League of Legends (“LoL”) about?
In a classic game of “League of Legends,” two teams each have five characters called champions, each with individual characteristics. The main goal of each team is to destroy the opponent’s Nexus (a main building). Before this can be attacked, however, several defenses must be torn down on at least one of the three central level routes (lanes). Similar to “Dota 2”, the heroes receive continuous support on their campaign from AI-controlled units called minions. They storm the battlefield at regular intervals and independently attack enemies or enemy buildings – but only on the three main paths of the map. Those who roam around in the surrounding jungle will have to do without minion help. As usual in the MOBA genre, the champions reach higher levels by collecting experience points. In the course of the match, they learn numerous new abilities. Provided they have enough gold, the player can also strengthen himself with new equipment. Each of the 141 hero characters that the player can currently choose from is assigned to one of six classes. Warriors can deal out a lot of damage, tanks take a lot of punishment, mages have powerful special abilities, and supporters can, among other things, replenish the mana energy of allies or heal their comrades-in-arms.
