Valorant players are waiting for the launch of Episode 3 Act 1 on June 22, and with it comes a brand new agent. Recent leaks revealed Kayo as a possible candidate, but is the robot really Agent 16?
Agent 16 in Valorant was originally supposed to appear with the release of Episode 2 Act 3, but patch 2.08 was an exception. This left fans speculating who the next agent could be. We’ve been doing a lot of guessing over the past few months, but recently Riot Games dropped some hints about the new Valorant agent.
All about Valorant Agent Kayo
It all started with Data Miners and the name “Grenadier”.
About two weeks later, Riot gave us some more hints about the new agent in one of their blog posts.
This time we’re adding some abilities that should feel familiar to people who have played traditional FPS games all their lives, but with additional elements that will make these recognizable abilities unique within our roster. This is an agent whose utility can create moments in which you’ll have to rely on your gunplay.
The first real teaser came about ten days ago, when players noticed a dagger stuck in a box. It was undoubtedly one of the abilities of the future agent.
Two days later, on June 10, the official Valorant Twitter account published a short teaser trailer for Agent, in which we could clearly see a robot rebooting. The question was: is this the next Agent?
We now have the answer that it was indeed a coming agent, but is Kayo it really Agent 16? It certainly looks like it.
Today we saw more pictures of the new agent, along with the unveiling of his name – Kayo. There is only one inconsistency, Kayo’s poster shows the number 17, instead of 16, but look for yourself.
See the number above? Kayo will fill the role of initiator, which fits with what we’ve come to expect from Agent 16. Maybe we’ll finally get a viable alternative to Sova’s dominance in most games.
When is the Valorant Agent 16/Kayo release date?
The next Valorant Agent is coming in less than a week with the launch of Episode 3 Act 1 on June 22. We’ll also see a dev livestream a day early. Anyway, at the moment it looks like Kayo will be Valorant’s Agent 16. But it could also be that Riot Games is planning a double agent release to make up for the agent we didn’t get in the current act – though that’s unlikely.

Agents are the playable characters in Valorant. Each agent belongs to one of four possible classes and has four abilities. In addition, almost every agent represents a country.
There are nineteen agents in total, although in the earliest versions of the game there were only eight. The rest were added gradually.
There are four different classes: Duelist, Initiator, Controller, and Sentinel.
Agents have one Signature Ability which they get free of charge each round.
The riot was meaning to send off the game with 12 agents, however, just 8 were accessible in the early press constructs. On March 29, 2020, a confidential occasion presented Breach. Since the Closed Beta send-off on April 7, 2020, Raze was added alongside the guide Split, bringing the Agent complete to 10. Roles
