Valorant’s patch 1.05 was released on August 4 and most players were excited about the new features. But instead we got bugs….
Killjoy is finally here, as is Deathmatch and some cool new skins, but does that even matter when the game is riddled with bugs and constant errors? The launch of Riots Act II in Valorant was an absolute mess. In fact, things got so bad that Riot had to temporarily remove an agent – Raze – from the game.
Killjoy is also not completely available, but only at official tournaments. This also applies to the FaZe Clan Valorant Invitational.
Unfortunately, we won’t see the new agent in the pro scene right away, but maybe she will be at the next event? Riot Games are determined to solve all the problems. Some, at least, they can keep in check.
Joe Ziegler of Riot also joined in with commentary to lift spirits and thank all the players for their continued support.
This is not the first time Valorant has had problems after a major patch. The first launch of the game in June went similarly. Riot managed to fix the problem within a few days. Still, it’s sad that we won’t see Killjoy at the FaZe Clan Invitational.
Not enough experience points in Deathmatch?
The new mode was added with patch 1.05, but it wasn’t officially available until a day later, on August 5.
Players from the community reported that they were only getting 100 XP per match, and it turned out that Riot had earmarked a much higher amount for the reward – 500 XP, to be exact. A Riot employee commented on Reddit that players would not be able to complete missions in Deathmatch:
If we allowed mission progression in Deathmatch, players could complete all the missions associated with kills and damage insanely fast. Our intention was for this to be a warm-up mode where players wouldn’t have to worry about their performance at all.
To be honest, we thought the same thing. Deathmatch was a much-anticipated mode that players had long wanted as a warm-up. But when it went live, that changed abruptly. Deathmatch may not be perfect, but it’s fast and gets us in shape for a real game, so why ask for more?

What is Valorant?
Valorant initially appears to be a cross between CS:Go and Overwatch . A competitive shooter where two small teams compete against each other.
Your team is either ready to attack or defend, with the attackers placing a “stinger” (essentially a bomb) that the other team must then defuse or preferably prevent you from placing at all.
The attacking team can win by either eliminating the defenders or placing the stinger and then protecting it from defusing until the timer runs out. The defenders can similarly win by destroying the attackers before they have a chance to plant their stinger, or disarming the stinger after it has been planted.
Each team of five can play as both attackers and defenders during a game. Each game has a total of 25 rounds, with the first team to win 13 rounds declared the winner
