The official Valorant 2.09 patch notes are finally here, and we have all the details. Here are all the changes with the latest update!
The Valorant 2.08 patch introduced Episode 2 Act 3. While the patch introduced the new Breeze map, some were disappointed as there was no new agent. And unfortunately, that won’t change with patch 2.09. The patch was released only two weeks after the previous one. The patch focuses on balance changes, among other things the new map Breeze and the new game mode Clone Program were adapted.
New Game Mode: Clone Program
Clone Program is the brand new game mode in Valorant. We can only assume that Riot Games will switch between the modes. Clone Program is a direct copy of League of Legends’ One For All. The new mode will force players from both sides to play the same agent. This will bring about interesting situations.

Now, without wasting any more time, let’s take a direct look at Valorant Patch Notes 2.09 and what has been changed with them.
Agent Updates
Viper
- Toxin (passive)
The instant decay when you get caught in Viper’s smoke or run through her poison wall has been reduced from 50 to 30.
Map updates
Breeze
- Visibility blocked at crevices above wooden doors center and metal doors A.
- Improved player collision behavior in multiple locations.
Updates to the game system
- “Tactical timeout” has been added to custom games in tournament mode.
- Each team can use 2 tactical timeouts per game.
- The tactical timeout lasts for 60 seconds.
- For the duration of “Tactical Timeout” all player movements are frozen.
- For normal pausing of the match, there is still the standard Pause Match Timer function.
- For observers, the visual synchronization of tracers and impacts has been improved.
- In most cases, this should prevent e-sports matches from looking like a player is shot before a bullet reaches them.
- Matched the color of placeable support to the team color for observers on the mini-map.
- The colors of the names in the HUD with the player armament has been adjusted to the respective team color.
- Increased the distance between the Endgame Phase and Pause Match Timer options in custom games to avoid misclicks.
- Improved user experience on climbing ropes at high latency.
- Performance improvements to the user interface in matches.
BUG FIXES
Agents
- Added team colors for placed agent abilities for spectators.
- Fixed a bug where Astra’s fully formed star nebula was slightly offset.
- Fixed a bug where projectile impacts on the wings of Sova’s owl drone were misrepresented.
- Fixed a bug that caused incorrect skill damage icons to be displayed for various agents in the kill feed.
- Fixed a bug where the audio effect of Killjoy’s nano swarm was cut off when it was destroyed right after activation.
- Fixed a bug where Skye’s pack did not correctly display how many enemies were hit in the battle report.
- Omen can no longer drop the spike or weapons when casting “From the Shadows”.
- Fixed a bug where Killjoy’s alert bot would show flashing visual effects when invisible.
Game Systems
- Fixed a bug where weapons would instantly reload when pressing “Pick Up Bullet” frequently.
- Fixed a bug that lowered the sound by 5 dB.
Weapons
- Eliminated snow blasts that rarely occurred in fights with firearms.
Breeze Map
- A number of exploits have been fixed throughout the map.
- Fixed a bug that could trap players between Sage’s wall and the mechanical doors on Breeze (or Ascent).
Rated
- Fixed a bug where players’ leaderboard rank did not appear on their act rank badges.
- Fixed a bug where the ranking threshold was displayed on the leaderboard for previous acts.
- As of now, only a threshold bar for the rank score of the current act is displayed.
So Viper was generated again after all the buffs, the adjustments on Breeze were predictable as well. The tactical timeouts are more than welcome, we actually would have expected this sooner. The only thing we miss in patch 2.09 are buffs for Yoru.

What is Valorant?
Valorant initially appears to be a cross between CS:Go and Overwatch . A competitive shooter where two small teams compete against each other.
Your team is either ready to attack or defend, with the attackers placing a “stinger” (essentially a bomb) that the other team must then defuse or preferably prevent you from placing at all.
The attacking team can win by either eliminating the defenders or placing the stinger and then protecting it from defusing until the timer runs out. The defenders can similarly win by destroying the attackers before they have a chance to plant their stinger, or disarming the stinger after it has been planted.
Each team of five can play as both attackers and defenders during a game. Each game has a total of 25 rounds, with the first team to win 13 rounds declared the winner
