Ha Raze, you’re looking stupid, aren’t you? Riot Games has launched a new update for Valorant, which finally takes care of the explosives expert. But there is much more in the new Valorant patch 0.47. The patch also brings changes to the soundscape of the tactical shooter.
Valorant Patch 0.47: Here it is at last, the Raze nerf
Since the start of the closed beta for the competitive shooter Valorant, players have been demanding a nerf for the agent Raze. The explosives expert was simply too strong in the eyes of many due to her explosive packs and hand grenades.
Especially her grenade skill Paint Shell has been changed in the latest update. Instead of two charges, there’s now only one shell, but a kill reset for the cooldown was introduced: two kills and the skill is available again.
In addition, the soundscapes of all three abilities have been adjusted to make their use clearer to other players, even in hectic game situations.
On the other hand, our beloved healer Sage got a buff. Her Slow Orb now finally slows down enemies in the air – such as a flying Jett or players bunny-hopping through the ice field. That’s where Overwatch ice machine Mei looks stupid, which has some amazing parallels to Sage.

All changes in Valorant Patch 0.47: The patch notes
The latest Valorant update makes several changes to the tactical shooter, which has been in closed beta since early March.
Gameplay and balance
Melee attacks now deal double damage per hit to destructible items like Sage’s barrier or the metal double doors on the Haven map. “Everyone knife the mid-doors!” a new Valorant Map Callout could thus read.
Raze
- Number of Paint Shells reduced from 2 to 1.
- Paint Shells now have a kill reset: 2 kills are needed to reduce the cooldown
- Audio for Paint Shells, Blast Pack and Showstopper has been adjusted
- Fixed a rare bug that caused the 2nd cluster of Paint Shells to explode faster than intended. There is now a minimum duration before the explosion.
The reason for the nerf according to Riot Games:
“The goal with Raze is to have a highly threatening duelist that punishes enemies in predictable positions, but we felt that the cluster shells and their number created too much of an underwhelming scenario. We also adjusted the tone to help players identify when Raze uses her abilities.”
Sage
- Slow Orb now slows down players who are in the air in the target area
- Players can now walk through the Slow Orb without making any noise
Map Updates
- Several exploits on Bind, Haven and Split have been fixed
- Split: Orb has been moved from B Mid to B Main
Riot Games wants this to allow more pressure over the mid, while increasing the incentive to control B Main.
Quality of Life
- Outgoing Valorant Client network traffic for high FPS players has been reduced
The reason: some ISPs and network configurations throttled the game’s traffic, which had an impact on gameplay. With the new update, there should be no more gameplay impact.
Bug fixes
- Fixed a rare server crash where data packets were sometimes corrupted by a player’s network connection
- Cypher’s spycam can no longer use weapons
- Fixed a bug where the audio range of the step sounds was sometimes not displayed on the minimap

What is Valorant?
Valorant initially appears to be a cross between CS:Go and Overwatch . A competitive shooter where two small teams compete against each other.
Your team is either ready to attack or defend, with the attackers placing a “stinger” (essentially a bomb) that the other team must then defuse or preferably prevent you from placing at all.
The attacking team can win by either eliminating the defenders or placing the stinger and then protecting it from defusing until the timer runs out. The defenders can similarly win by destroying the attackers before they have a chance to plant their stinger, or disarming the stinger after it has been planted.
Each team of five can play as both attackers and defenders during a game. Each game has a total of 25 rounds, with the first team to win 13 rounds declared the winner
