PoGO – Pokémon Go: Complete Sinnoh Nostalgia Challenge - Catching Tips

Loyal fans of Pokémon Go already know that they are running out of time to complete the Temporary Research Nostalgia Challenge 2020: Sinnoh. You have until Friday, May 29, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. to complete the nine steps of Temporary Sinnoh Research to not only earn a Cresselia. No, those who complete all four Temporary Nostalgia Challenge researches in Pokémon Go will also receive the 2020 Nostalgia Challenge Special Research Champ for free on June 3 – everyone else can pay for it if they want.

Catching ground Pokémon

As with other Temporary Research before it, there are a few steps in Sinnoh Research that have the potential to get Pokémon Go players riled up. Among them is step 4, with the task of catching a ground Pokémon (by the way, you can find all the steps and rewards in our guide to the 2020 Nostalgia Challenge: Sinnoh). Because the only ground Pokémon from the Sinnoh region that currently appears in the wild is Hippopotas. Either you get lucky and find one in the wild or near a PokéStop, or you try to use smoke to attract a Small Stone – admittedly, you’ll have to rely on your luck for that, too. Super annoying at this point, of course, is that the rewards of Step 6 will earn you an encounter with Hippopotas.

At least you can also be rewarded with a Kleinstein encounter via the “Fight another trainer” field research. Or you can get the field research “Land 3 great throws in a row”, because then you’ll encounter Onix, also a pocket monster of the rock and soil types. Another option is Raids, but for that you’ll probably need to take a buddy, because in Tier 4 Raids Hippoterus can appear. Battle League can also get you further, as you may encounter Flunschlik as a base reward starting at Rank 4.

Catch Spirit Pokémon

As with Hoenn research, you’ll need to catch a Spirit Pokémon this time, with step 5 of Sinnoh research. As an aside, banana again at the point: completing Step 5 rewards you with an encounter with a Spirit Pokémon: Driftlon. Driftlon, however, can also appear in Tier 1 Raids as well as in the wild, so it’s easily playable solo. In the field explorations, you can run into a Nebulak with a 33 percent chance after “land 3 great rolls). Otherwise, hope for the evening hours, a Traunfugil can still appear in the wilderness; treat your trainer to a smoke if need be. Of course, defeating a Team Go Rocket bully can also earn you an encounter with a ghost.

Catching Ice and Steel Pokémon

In and of itself, it shouldn’t be a problem for you to get hold of an Ice Pokémon for Step 7, because currently enough Shnebedeck appear in the wild and Rexblisar can be seen in Tier 4 Raids. If the Steel Pokémon for Step 6 doesn’t really work out, then use the Battle League here as well, which can reward you with a Metagross from Rank 1 – the first Rank 1 reward is guaranteed to be Metagross, by the way. For the field research “Send 3 Pokémon” you get an encounter with Magnetilo as a reward, for the event task “Hatch an egg” you get Schilterus. In the Raids, you’ll be lucky to find the Steel Pokémon Klick (Tier 1), Flunkifer (Tier 2), Bollterus (Tier 3), and Bronzong (Tier 4). Therefore, a successful completion of the research should not fail because of the task.

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados).
