PoGO – Pokémon Go: Entei as Raid Boss - Counter Guide

If you’re looking for a legendary fire fighter among the Pokémon Go pocket monsters, then Entei is a must-have. There are more powerful monsters in Niantic’s Pokémon Go metagame, but Entei still fills gaps in the raid and PvP squad well. We have the latest counter guide to Entei in Pokémon Go for you!

Update from January 20, 2021: Joy for the Fire Pokémon fans among you, because the legendary beast Entei is coming back to the Pokémon Go Raids after a break of about one and a half years. Along with Lavados and Reshiram, Entei is still a powerful Fire Legendary that you should add to your collection if you’re a PvE enthusiast and also a PvP fan. Entei will appear in level 5 Raid battles from January 26, 2021 starting at 10:00 a.m. until January 31, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Below are the meaningful counters, we left out the Crypto Pokémon. Have fun hunting and good luck catching Entei.

The strongest counters against Entei

Original news from July 9, 2019: Developers Niantic are rewarding hardworking Pokémon Go trainers who participated in Candela’s EP challenge with an Entei raid event on July 14, 2019 – while the exact time hasn’t been announced yet, expect Entei to appear in raids between 4 and 7 p.m. local time. The legendary fire beast from the 2nd generation can then of course be caught if you have defeated it – and with a lot of luck also in its iridescent form! Of course, we wish you every success in your hunt. To make sure you have the right counter Pokémon for the battle, we have prepared a counter guide for you.

Pokémon Go: Entei as Raid Boss

As a raid boss, Entei has 41,758 CP. As with Raikou, you shouldn’t try your hand at Entei as a solo trainer, because that can only backfire. It’s best to go into battle against the Fire-type Pokémon with four to five trainers or even more. As mentioned above, Entei is a Fire-type Pokémon, so you’ll have to fight it against Pokémon that have Water-type attacks. It also has weaknesses against attacks of the soil and rock type.

However, be careful if the weather is sunny, because then almost all of Entei’s attacks are strengthened. Fire Tooth, Fire Whirl, Heat Fury, Flame Throw, and Fire Storm are all Fire type attacks, while Iron Skull is a Steel type attack and is boosted in snow. So expect your Water Pokémon to take quite a beating – making it all the more important to get the fight over with as quickly as possible. Alternatively, you can use Rock or Dragon Pokémon.

As a counter to Entei, you should use the following Pocket Monsters:

Kyogre with the attacks cascade and hydro pump
Rameidon with the attacks catapult and hail of stones
Palkia with the attacks Dragon Rod and Hydro Pump
Impergator with the attacks Aquaknarre and Hydropump
Despotar with the attacks Catapult and Stone Edge
Garados with the attacks Cascade and Hydropump

Pokémon Go: Catch Entei

If you have defeated Entei – and perhaps lucked out so that it spawns as a Shiny – then it has a perfect IV-100% value at level 20 when it reaches the CP value of 1,984. If Entei is boosted to level 25 by sunny weather, it will have 2,480 CP for a perfect IV-100%. We wish you the best of luck!

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon.
