The first Pokémon game for the Nintendo Switch, Pokémon: Let’s Go, will be released in a few days. What’s special about it is that trainers can transfer their Pokémon from Niantic’s mobile app Pokémon GO to Pokémon: Let’s Go on the Switch. Pokémon: GO – How to connect your Pokémon GO account with Pokémon: Let’s Go (and vice versa)

Before you can transfer Pokémon from Pokémon: GO to Pokémon: Let’s Go, you must first connect the two games. Here’s how it works – starting from Pokémon: GO:

Click on the Pokéball icon.
Go to the Settings menu.
Look for a button titled “Nintendo Switch” and click it.
Click on “Connect to Nintendo Switch”.

If you want to do it the other way around and connect via the Switch, follow these steps. complete the following steps:

Press the X button to open the Pause menu. Then press the Y button for the Options menu.
Select Pokémon GO and click “Yes” to connect.
Click “Yes” again to verify the trainer account.

Once you have connected the two games, follow these steps to transfer individual Pokémon from Pokémon: GO to Pokémon: Let’s Go:

Click on the Pokéball icon.
Select the Pokémon you want to transfer.
Click on the Nintendo Switch icon in the upper right corner.
Press and hold on the Pokémon you want to transfer to select it for transfer.
To perform the transfer, click “Yes” in the dialog box and then click “Ok”.
You will receive a message that the transfer has taken place, as well as a candy for each Pokémon sent.

To receive the Pokémon on your Nintendo Switch, do the following:

Go to the Pokémon GO Park and talk to the employee at the reception desk.
Select a location where you want to send the Pokémon.
Click on the “Pick up” option
Answer “Yes” to the question asking if you want to receive a Pokémon.
You will receive a confirmation message that you have received the Pokémon.

Basically, you can transfer almost any Pokémon from Pokémon: GO to Pokémon: Let’s Go. However, the transfer is subject to some restrictions:

You can’t send Pokémon back once you’ve transferred them from Pokémon: GO to Pokémon: Let’s Go.
The stats of a transferred Pokémon will be re-rolled.

The following Pokémon also cannot be transferred from Pokémon GO to Pokémon: Let’s Go:

Pikachu and Raichu in hat variants.
Schiggy, Schillock and Turtok with sunglasses
Mew
all legendary Pokémon

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events).
