PoGO – Pokémon Go: The Kalos Celebration Event - Temporary Research Guide

To celebrate the arrival of the first Pokémon from Generation 6, that is, from the Kalos region, in Pokémon Go, the developers at Niantic are launching the Kalos Event, a festival to properly celebrate the new arrivals. To go with it, there’s a Limited Research with some steps and rewards. In our guide to the Kalos event, we have the information so far.

The – Season of festivity has started in Pokémon Go and is active until March 1, 2021! In keeping with this, the folks at Niantic want to launch all sorts of events to celebrate the Pokémon of all the regions available in the game so far – Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Einall and, of course, Kalos. Kicking things off is a Kalos event, the Kalos Celebration Event, which will begin on December 2, 2020 at 10:00 AM and last until December 8, 2020 at 10:00 PM local time. During the event period, Pokémon from the Kalos region will appear more frequently in the wild as well as Raids and hatch from eggs. In addition, there’s event-exclusive field research and also a Temporary Research, so you can properly celebrate the arrival of Generation 6 in Pokémon Go.

What is not yet known are the individual steps and rewards for the Temporary Research for the Kalos event. However, we are already creating this guide for you and will update it as soon as the Kalos Festival has started and all information is available. What is already known, on the other hand, are all sorts of the Pokémon from Kalos that will be coming into the game starting with the event. These are:

Fynx and the evolutions Rutena and Fennexis (Fynx appears in the wild, from 5km eggs)
Igamaro and the evolutions Igastarnish and Brigaron (Igamaro appears in the wild, from 5km eggs)
Froxy and the evolutions Amphizel and Quajutsu (Froxy appears in the wild, from 5km eggs)
Scoppel and the evolution Grebbit (Scoppel appears in the wild, from 2km eggs)
Dartiri and the evolutions Dartignis and Fiaro (Dartiri appears in the wild, from 2km eggs)
Leufeo and the evolution Pyroleo (Leufeo appears in the wild, from 2km eggs, in 1-star raids)
eFeM as well as the evolution UHaFnir (eFeM appears in the wild, from 10km eggs)
Psiau as well as the evolution Psiaugon (Psiau appears in the wild, from 10km-eggs, in 1-star-raids)
Clavion, though regionally limited to France (Clavion appears in the wild).

Whether these are all Pokémon from Kalos or more are coming is not officially known yet. In the press conference for the Go Beyond update, the makers of Pokémon Go spoke of about 20 pocket monsters in the first wave of Kalos.

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from Pokemon.gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
