PoGO – Pokémon GO: These are the current raid bosses besides Rayquaza (quick tip)

Trainers can currently defeat the legendary Pokémon Rayquaza in raids again in Pokémon GO – for the first time also in the Shiny variant. But there are also a number of other interesting raid bosses in the game. We have compiled a list for you.

Pokémon GO fans with a preference for Raids are currently experiencing rosy times. The legendary Pokémon Rayquaza is currently appearing again in Tier 5 Raids – this time even in the Shiny variant. Because Rayquaza is one of the easiest legendary raid bosses to defeat, you can also defeat it in pairs – provided you have the right team – as we explain in our counter guide.

But besides Rayquaza, there are also quite a few other interesting raid bosses of the other tiers to be found in Pokémon GO. The dataminers from TheSilphRoad have published a handy list that we don’t want to deprive you of:

Ex-Raids: Deoxys (Initiative Form) – easy to defeat from five players onwards
Tier 5: Rayquaza – easy to defeat from three players onwards
Tier 4: ALoLa-Knogga – easy to defeat from four players; Lapras – easy to defeat from four players; Dragoran – easy to defeat from four players; Togetic – easy to defeat from four players; Granbull – easy to defeat from three players

Update 8/5: Tier 2 raids have been adjusted.

Update 6.8.: The Yokohama event has caused some confusion and we are waiting for confirmation of the new Pokémon. However, it is already clear that Wablu will be kicked out of Tier 1 and Quapsel and Loturzel will move to the Tier 1 Raids. There are also some changes in the Tier 2.3 and 4 Raids, which we have to wait and see.

Especially interesting are Rossana, Lapras and especially Mamutel, because these Pokémon are perfect counters against Rayquaza. So be sure to get one or more of these pocket monsters before you go hunting for a Shiny Rayquaza.

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from Pokemon.gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
