On Google, Reddit and other sites, the term “Radiant” is currently doing the rounds in connection with Valorant. But so is the term “radianite”. We ask: Radia…what?
Spoiler ahead: Radianite is a currency in Valorant’s in-game store. Radiants (singular: Radiant), on the other hand, are people within Valorant lore who have special abilities. But let’s start with the so-called Radianit points.
Radianite is credit
Lucky Valorant beta key owners will have noticed that in Valorant, many of the agents run around with flashy squiggly weapons. In addition, many have special animations when reloading or during kills. If you’re thinking: I want that too! No problem, the keyword is Mones, Money, Money.
As in many other games, there will be skins in Valorant. While Riot has stated they won’t be selling agent skins for the time being due to competitive integrity, there will be weapon skins all the same. These come in the form of colors, animations, kill and sound effects.
To get most of the weapon skins, you have to pay in the in-game store with so-called Valorant Points, which you can buy for cash:
- 500 VP – €5.49
- 1150 VP – €11,99
- 2150 VP – €21,90
- 4400 VP – €43,99
- 5500 VP – €53.99
- 10500 VP – €99.99
Alternatively, each agent has its own skin for one of the secondary weapons. You get this skin by completing the so-called missions of your agent. Such missions are completed by simply playing, gaining experience and leveling up the agent. Completed missions bring rewards, including the unique secondary weapon skins.
Whether you buy weapon skins in the store or receive them as rewards, all skins can be upgraded by leveling them up. Each weapon has four levels, and you unlock these levels with Radianit Points (RP) – which you also earn by completing missions.
If this is too tedious for you, you can exchange your Valorant points for Radianit points in the store:
- 20 RP – 1600 VP
- 40 RP – 2800 VP
- 80 RP – 4800 VP
Ten Radianit points are enough to level up a weapon to the maximum level 4 with all cosmetic additions.
And don’t worry, those who buy VP in the closed beta will not only get them back in the finished game, but a 20% bonus on top. This means that if you have 1000 Valorant points on your account at the end of the beta, you will find 1200 VP on your account after the release of the full game.
Radiants as (success) guarantors
Radiants are an essential part of Valorant lore: a group of individuals who received unique and supernatural abilities after the so-called mysterious First Light Event. Accordingly, a large part of the playable agents are Radiants, such as Omen, while Sova is a human who uses Radiant technology.
Valorant is set in the near-fictional version of Earth, which has been permanently changed by the First Light Event.
How to get skins in Valorant
Everyone uses the same weapons in Valorant, but that doesn’t mean every weapon has to look the same. After all, you’re going to spend a lot of time looking at your weapon, so looking at it might as well be.
Fortunately, the folks at Riot have the perfect solution for players who need to look good while shooting enemies. Skins are cosmetic add-ons that can change the physical appearance of a weapon, as well as animations and audio effects.

How do I get skins in Valorant?
Unlike other popular multi-shooter games, Valorant doesn’t have any special skins to change and customize the look of the agent – at least for now. What they do offer is a collection of skins that can change and improve the way weapons look and feel while playing the game.
They don’t necessarily improve your gameplay, but sometimes looking good is enough to win a match, right?
Spend real money
This is possibly the easiest way to get the weapon skin you want but don’t have the time to unlock. Valorant Points or VP is the premium currency used in the game to unlock agents, skins and more from the in-game store.
Here is an example of converting real money to VP on the North American server:
- $4.99 – 475 VP, no bonus VP, 475 VP total.
- $9.99 – 950 VP, 50 bonus VP, 1000 VP total
- $19.99 – 1900 VP, 150 bonus VP, 2050 total
- $34.99 – 3325 VP, 325 bonus VP, 3650 total
- $49.99 – 4750 VP, 600 bonus VP, 5350 total
- 99 $ – 9500 VP, 1500 bonus VP, 11000 total
As a frame of reference, Valorant Store Featured Collections are around 7,100 VP. Individual weapon skins are slightly less expensive and generally range from 1,775 VP to 4,350 VP each, with melee weapon skins at the higher end of the price scale.
Before you start searching for weapon skins, you should know that featured bundles change every few weeks and individual skin deals change every 24 hours. So what you see today may not be what you see tomorrow.
