The .357 Magnum, also SW 357 in the game files, is a revolver from Call of Duty: World at War and Call of Duty: Black Ops: Declassified.

The .357 Magnum does not appear in the campaign, but in multiplayer it is unlocked at level 49.

The .357 Magnum

This is a powerful revolver created for those who want to kill their opponents with the fewest shots. Like most revolvers, there are only six rounds in the magazine, but the Magnum also has a high rate of fire. If you compare it to the Desert Eagle from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, the Magnum has higher accuracy and not as much recoil, but the recoil pushes the gun up a bit after each shot, which means that the last shots almost always go straight into the air if you shoot as fast as you can. If you aim for the head and fire six bullets, it’s actually possible that five of them won’t hit at all. Because the weapon is so powerful, it’s enough to shoot twice at the torso in close combat, and three times at the chest in ranged combat when using firepower. In hardcore game modes, the Magnum kills with one hit from any distance. The Magnum is a commanding secondary weapon no matter what class you play with. If you play with a sniper rifle, it’s great for defending yourself at close range while you’re trying to reach a high position. On the other hand, if you’re using a submachine gun or an assault rifle, the Magnum is a great alternative in case you run out of ammo and still have a target in front of your sights.

Reloading with the gun is rather slow and once all six rounds are fired, it takes about three seconds. Since you also only have six bullets in the cylinder, you’ll probably have to reload more often than you’d like. Therefore, it’s best to pair the revolver with a weapon that also reloads slowly, so it’s really worth using dexterity

Survival Combat

The .357 Magnum is also a powerful weapon in survival combat and can kill up to three zombies at once with one bullet. It appears on all maps for 950 points in the mystery box. The recoil has been reduced compared to multiplayer, but the reload time is the same. It is the optimal secondary weapon to fight hellhounds. The biggest disadvantage is probably that all six cartridges are reloaded individually, which costs you your life in the worst case. From round 15, the Magnum no longer kills with one shot.

If you are almost always in the same place, the Magnum is the perfect weapon to defend a window. In multiplayer, you can fire the Magnum with a delay of only five milliseconds between each shot, but in survival combat, the rate of fire has been reduced, so double-fire malt beer is useful.

When improved on The Giant with the Pack-a-Punch machine, the new name is “.357 Plus 1 Kil-U” and the damage has been increased above certain ranges. The weapon still works well in early rounds, but from round 15 you should exchange it for a better one. Upgrading the Magnum isn’t really recommended because the magazine capacity and reserve ammo don’t change, only the strength increases a bit. However, if you go down, you use the upgraded Magnum instead of the M1911, which allows you to give better backup to your teammates who are trying to revive you. Compared to the punched M1911 or the ray gun, the .357 Plus 1 Kil-U is pretty weak

Call ofDuty: Black Ops: Declassified

The .357 Magnum also appears in Declassified, but there it has the Python weapon model from Call of Duty: Black Ops. It also has roughly the same stats as the Python, but bears the name of the .357 Magnum.

2. On Night of the Undead, you can make the truck you see outside a window explode with a shot from the Magnum

4. The rear sight and front sight in the Wii version are unclear and slightly out of place, causing some problems with aiming
