One of the endgame activities for instance fans among WoW players in Mists of Pandaria is the siege of Niuzao Temple. Our instance guide explains how you drive the Mantis invaders out of the Niuzao Temple.
The Pandaria instance Siege of Niuzao Temple is only playable for characters level 90 or higher, making it one of the instances from Mists of Pandaria that is only available in heroic mode. Four boss encounters await you in the rather compact dungeon – and lots of mantis.
As the name of the instance suggests, you should end the siege of Niuzao Temple, which is being attacked by mantis. You start in a tree root, from which the mantis built a bridge to the temple island. From there we continue to the temple complex. You can expect some of the more varied boss encounters from Mists of Pandaria.
Siege of Niuzao Temple: Vizier Jin’bak
Vizier Jin’bak is your first opponent in Siege of Niuzao Temple. The fight against him revolves around the “juice puddle” in the middle of the room. This will automatically increase over time. This is important because Jin’bak perio
dically casts the Detonate ability, causing the puddle to explode. The larger the puddle, the greater the damage from Detonate. So the ultimate goal is clear: you have to keep the puddle of juice small. But how?
For one thing, characters can stand in the puddle and so to speak soak up some of the juice. This doesn’t work indefinitely though – if a character stands in the puddle they’ll take shadow damage and also get a stacking damage-over-time effect. The group members should take turns here. Either a few characters can collect a little more charges, or the entire group helps out and thus keeps the charges per character low – depends on your group composition.
However, Jin’bak has another ace up his sleeve. Periodically, the boss spawns juice balls that shuffle from the sides of the room toward the juice puddle. When the balls reach their destination, the puddle grows. The damage distributors should therefore quickly switch to the balls. As long as you’re disciplined about keeping the sap puddle small, Jin’bak shouldn’t be an obstacle for you.
